Hiya, I’m Vickie

Software engineer. Problem solver. Big fan of tea.

I’m a software engineer in Norwich. I founded the DevelopHER Awards in 2015, and these days I mostly think about Angular and AI.

DevelopHER Awards

The job: run a whole awards ceremony online, from public nominations to judging day, without drowning in spreadsheets.

What I built: the public site, the online nomination form, and an admin dashboard for reviewing, shortlisting and managing every entry.

The awards: eleven years running, 250 guests every year and thousands of nominations, with past sponsors including Google, Microsoft and Oracle.

Unda

The idea: my own product, helping paddleboarders find calm water nearby and know whether today is a good day to go out.

What I built: a map-based mobile app pulling live weather, tides, river levels and water quality into one “best time to paddle” view, with saved spots, safety info and an SOS feature. Plus the launch website and waitlist.

Where it’s at: in testing now, launching on iOS and Android soon. The waitlist is open.
